Evan (pictured with the yellow/green bracelet) was one of the first metalsmiths I’ve ever seen make conceptual art. His creations were studies of patterns he called “spongiforms.” Strangely enough, spongiforms are related to diseases of the brain and other soft tissues.
Regardless, I like the idea of an artist being confused by his own work — as depicted by his crooked smirk
Miroslav’s (white and red t-shirt) portrait was a nice study of an artist with his tools. The random collection of bottles, paint cans and cardboard to the right of frame are what he uses to produce his pieces.
Below Miroslav’s chair was a collection of burned books, scrap metal, paint brushes and old socks.
